Privacy policy

Your job-search data should not become somebody else’s lead list.

Analysis runs in your browser. A minimized report synchronizes only when you choose Save role.

Effective date: August 19, 2026

Plain-language summary: Analysis is local. Save role stores a local copy and sends the complete analysis, structured public job facts, a short derived summary and the exact job URL to the separate jobs.salari.dev database. The extracted job-description body is not transmitted. No advertising or remote AI SDK is included.

Scope

This policy covers the Job Reality Check website and the private salari.dev Chrome extension version 1.0. The extension is currently intended for the site owner’s personal career research. If access is later offered to other people, the product and store listing must present this collection notice before installation.

Website data

Job descriptions and report inputs

Job descriptions, titles, company names, locations and URLs entered into the website are processed by JavaScript in your browser. They are not transmitted during analysis. Save role transmits the minimized report described below.

Saved roles and drafts

The website can store your draft and saved reports in browser local storage. The stored data may include the pasted job description, optional role metadata, score, findings, questions, application status and timestamps.

Saved-role synchronization

Saved roles synchronize privately to jobs.salari.dev. The website may keep a local copy for speed and offline resilience, but JSON import and export are not part of the product workflow.

Chrome extension data

Current page access

The extension can read text from the active tab after you click the extension, select the current-page action or invoke its context menu. It searches structured JobPosting data and common job-description containers, then passes the extracted text to the local analyzer.

Selected text

When you choose “Analyze selected text,” the selected text and current page metadata are processed locally in the side panel.

Extension storage

The extension uses Chrome storage for local reports, a random installation identifier and interface preferences. Save role stores one report containing the analysis, structured public job facts, short derived description summary, title, company, exact job URL and timestamp.

Data transmission

The website and extension send one privacy-minimized report to a dedicated jobs.salari.dev API after Save role is selected. The API stores it in the dedicated Supabase project. The exact URL of the scanned job is collected. A public recruiting email is included only when it appears near application or recruiting language. The full job-description body is removed before transmission. There is no polling, heartbeat, remote model call, advertising SDK or analytics SDK. The browser never receives database credentials.

Permissions

Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you delete it or clear browser data. Private saved records remain in the dedicated jobs.salari.dev database until the owner deletes them. Local copies remain until you delete them or clear browser data.

Sensitive information

Do not enter passwords, identity documents, financial details, private source code, confidential interview assignments or any information you are not authorized to process.

Security

Local processing reduces server exposure but does not make a device invulnerable. Protect your browser profile and saved-role access. The production deployment should use HTTPS and the supplied security headers.

Third-party links

The website and extension may open an original job URL or salari.dev page. External sites have their own privacy practices. This policy does not govern them.

Children

The product is intended for employment candidates and is not directed to children under 16.

Changes

Material changes should update the effective date and explain new collection, sharing, account or API behavior before release.

Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected]. Replace this address in assets/js/config.js before production if another contact will be used.
