What the extension does
salari.dev Job Reality Check helps candidates evaluate developer job postings and track selected roles. It reads the current page only after you invoke the extension, choose a context-menu action or click Read current job page.
Data processed locally
The extension may process the current page URL, page title, company, location, visible job-description text, structured JobPosting data and text you explicitly select or paste. This information is used to create the report shown in the side panel. Local reports, preferences and the random installation credential are stored in Chrome storage.
Data sent when you save a role
Save role sends the report score, verdict, findings, questions, structured public job facts, short derived summary, title, company, exact job URL, source and timestamp over HTTPS to jobs.salari.dev. A public recruiting contact may be included only when it appears near recruiting or application language. The complete extracted description and private board notes are not transmitted.
Why the data is used
Transmitted data is used only to provide the private saved-role board, synchronize the selected report and protect the service from abuse. It is not sold, used for personalized advertising or shared to build advertising profiles.
Chrome permissions
- activeTab: temporary access to the page where you invoke the extension.
- scripting: runs the bundled job-page extractor after user action.
- storage: stores reports, preferences and the private installation credential locally.
- sidePanel: displays the analysis beside the current job page.
- contextMenus: provides current-page and selected-text actions.
- jobs.salari.dev host access: sends saved reports to the private API and refreshes an open Saved roles tab after confirmed synchronization.
- Optional job-site access: when temporary access has expired, Chrome may ask for access only to the current job site's origin after you click the read action.
Data retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it or clear the extension's Chrome storage. Synced reports remain until they are deleted from the application board or by the service administrator. Deleting a browser profile does not automatically delete an already synchronized server record. For an access or deletion request, contact the address below and include the installation identifier shown by the product when available.
Security
All synchronization uses HTTPS. Each installation receives a random credential. Server-side authorization isolates reports by installation, stores only a one-way hash of the credential and applies persistent request limits. Database administrative credentials are not included in the extension.
Third parties
Supabase provides the dedicated database infrastructure used for saved reports. Original job websites are independent third parties with their own privacy practices. The extension does not include advertising, analytics, session-recording or remote AI SDKs.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide or improve the extension's single user-facing purpose, protect the service or comply with applicable law.
Children and sensitive information
The extension is intended for employment candidates and is not directed to children under 16. Do not paste passwords, identity documents, financial details, confidential source code or private interview assignments.
Changes and contact
Material changes will update this page and the effective date before the new processing begins. Privacy, access and deletion requests can be sent to [email protected].
